Omi
I usually try to get all my cannons in communication with a HQ, but is it really necessary? Do cannons get the bonuses from the HQ?
easytarget
don't recall what all it affects but at a bare minimum it probably causes a delay in the delivery of ordinance when the arty units are out of command and of course they route easier if not under command when they come under attack
Redwolf
There is a very small accuracy benefit from being under a combat+ HQ. The stealth bonus doesn't do anything when the gun is firing. The command bonus still leads to faster execution of movement orders. The morale bonus should work normally, that means your gun is not as likely to be abanonded, but it is very heard to measure the effect and BFC doesn't really document it. YankeeDog
1) On-board guns that are in command are less likely to open fire when you don't want them to. This is mostly an issue when you are trying to set up an ambush with Green troops - Green troops have a tendancy to get jittery and sometimes stop hiding and fire of their own accord. Being in command, especially with a stealth bonus, tends to prevent this. 2) In-Command units do have slightly better accuracy, as Rewolf notes. This bonus goes up if the commander has a combat bonus. More important, though - Guns under command of a leader with a good combat bonus have a higher ROF. 3) Morale Bonus for ATGs can be important if the gun comes under HE fire - out-of-command gun crews tend to abandon with the first nearby HE hit. Guns under the command of a leader with a morale bonus will tend to stick it out at least for a few nearby hits. This can be the difference between surviving long enough to take out one more tank, or not. Cheers, YD
