Any chance to create a battle on an existing map

I know its impossible for a quick map generator. But how about choosing the units for both sides and creating sort of a quick skirmish battle on an unlocked map, for single player games ofcourse.

Is this an option or are all of the battles pretty much pre canned?

Yes, by manually editing files, you can do this. This was one of the first things I discovered when I first started playing with various beta builds.

Also, the plan at this point is to be able to ship with some type of battle editor.

Wheter that occurs or not is not yet determined but its pretty high up on a list already full of of high up stuff we want.

Be aware that maps themselves are not editable AFAIK. Editor probably will change xml mission data. So you'd be able to change forces, starting points, triggers, such stuff (dunno for trenches).

Using existing maps is fine by me. A GUI for what forces I would like to use, objectives and setup zones is pretty important to have.

Is there a way to string these maps together for something like a CM operation?
