All of us English speakers are alike to the Russians? All joking aside, I was wondering why this is so? After a quick glace at BFC's ToW page, the campaigns appear to allow you to take soldiers from battle to battle in a campaign? How will this work when the armies change? Also, in the French campaign, is it all 39-40 or will it also include Free French forces? I'm still confused about how taking soldiers from battle to battle will work in a US/UK campaign when the armies change from battle to battle. hellfish Posted July 28, 2006 Share Posted July 28, 2006 I imagine the US/UK campaign takes place post D-Day, hence it does kind of make sense to group them together on the West Front as they were essentially the same general campaign, just like France in '40 was a distinctly seperate campaign, and the East Front and Poland as well. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing UK stuff from '40 in the game, to give us the chance for a Sealion scenario or two. Plus, I like Matildas. Madmatt Posted July 28, 2006 Share Posted July 28, 2006 The UK-US campaign was a recent addition and currently there are 7 US missions and 3 UK ones. I haven't played through it completely yet but the way they are organized it looks like your UK troops carry forward to the UK battles and the US ones carry forward to the US battles. I guess we could try to make the UK campaign seperate if need be, but since this campaign is really based on time (post D-Day) they were simple put together. I like having a Polish and French campaign. I guess with having these two compaigns it just seemed out of whack to me to not have a separate campaign for the US and UK. I guess this means that there won't be any North Africa maps? I would also love to have an Italian campaign although I know this won't be a release feature. And, correct me if I'm wrong , I have a strong feeling that a Finnish campaign will be demanded at some point. Will the Free French appear? Thanks for the info folks. Madmatt Posted July 28, 2006 Share Posted July 28, 2006 In the unit list I do see French Partisans listed but I couldn't in good conscience voluntarily play the French Campaign until I played the others first so I am not sure if they are featured in any of the battles or not. Why would they release that if they are not included at some point during the game? The Americans used them mostly in the Mediterranean and to a very limited extent in the Pacific theatre. It seems unlikely that there will be a Pacific Theatre game in the first release, so by logic there should be a North African campaign on the cards, relatively soon.
