TC_Stele
Just wondering if Zone of Controls and movement near them will be implimented and it will only apply to certain units. What type of mechanics will we see in regards to board wargames?
Moon
Well, as soon as units would enter each other Zone of Control, a CMBB battle would be started (in most cases at least)... Martin
TC_Stele
Thanks for the response, but I'm referring to squares around the square that the unit(s) occupy already.
Ike
So the question is: if this were a board game "in the day", what are the units ZOCs and what is the ZOC's effect on movement, etc. I infer from Moon's last post that movement stops when enemy units enter the other's ZOC. So, having an answer to that question, there remains: What is a unit's ZOC? How many Squares on the CMC map? To quote a King novel: "M-O-O-N; that sure spells zones of control! My lawds, yes!"
Tactical Wargamer
My understanding is that you exhibit a ZOC only in the "square/hex" you occupy....
Sergei
It'd be nifty if a long range fire capable unit (tanks, guns) would be able to exercise some control over adjacent tiles as well. Like, if you have a battery of 88 Flak's, there'd be some penalty for moving a T-34 company through an adjacent field (moving through an adjacent forest would not carry such penalty, however, although it'd be slower).
