CDV Patch Installed, game now doesnt work!!!!!

After installing the CDV patch for my game, I tried it last night and it worked ok. Tjis morning when I try to start the game, I get an error message saying, "This programme has commited an illegal operation, blah blah , blah" the details are as follows:-

Did you keep your original executable ? If so run that and see if it gives you the same problem. If you didn't keep it, then I would recommend deleting or moving your current installation and reinstalling CMBB and seeing if the error repeats itself with v. 1.0. If it doesn't, then reapply the patch.

The thread above this one mentions that someone had to go in and manually modify the registry to get the patch to install correctly (there were getting an error during the patch's install though).

Hi, thanks for your advice, actually I reinstalled the patch, THIS time making sure my antivirus was disabled, and touch wood, so far it's working ok!
