Modules. How will the editor work?

Hi All,

I was just wondering about how the modules will fold into the editor.

Would the following be correct?

As a module is released any different terrain files added can be used by the editor . So the editor becomes generic for all the modules.

At the same time unit modules are stand alone.

So you could make one map that could be used across different modules. Is that right?

Regards John

Yep.

Titles will be stand alone. A title will included the main game code to play in a particular setting, using rules particular to that time period/setting, plus units and terrain and stuff like that.

Modules will provide new units/equipment/vehicles, possibly terrain, and maybe some coding/game rules specific to whatever the module is based on...say like some kind of special coding for paratroopers if it's a paratrooper module. We won't really know until BFC releases the Marines Module.

CMSF is a title...the Marines Module will plug into it. Only the CMSF title can use the Marine Module.

You will be able to make a map combining elements from the Main Title game, ex. CMSF, plus any modules bought for that title, ex. Marines, British, and German/Coalition modules. Only people that own CMSF plus those modules will be able to use that map and whatever units are in the scenario. People that have, say just a WWII Title will not be able to use a map/scenario made for CMSF. People that only have CMSF, and say the German/Coalition module, won't be able to play the map if units and terrain from the British module are included.

That's what I've come to understand anyway.

Hope that helped.

Mord.
