Bahger
I can't find this in the FM: How do we know when "teleporting" units (i.e. placing them on the map for the initial turn as opposed to moving them under their own power) is permitted and how is it accomplished, please? Many thanks.
JaguarUSF
Teleporting is a bug that is experienced by people with dual core processors; there is a fix for AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors (uninstalling the AMD Dual Core Optimizer). It's not something you want You are allowed to position your troops anywhere in the blue (or red, if you are Syria) area using the move commands.
Bahger
Ah, sorry about the confusion. I'm going to go back into the first campaign mission because I'm sure I didn't see where the blue zone was and although I managed to "quick place" a unit, it was a fluke and I couln't repeat the feat.
JaguarUSF
That's cool. I've found that bombing the crap out of them with your artillery before you even move is the best method.
Battlefront.com
There are Setup Zones. If a unit is in a Setup Zone it can be placed anywhere within it (even if non-contiguous, which is up to the scenario designer to lay out) instantly and without penalty using the Move Command. If you plot outside of their Setup Zone (i.e. anyplace else) the unit will lay down Commands to follow during the first turn. If the unit is not in a Setup Zone at all (again, a scenario design decision) only the latter works as the unit is stuck to that spot for the Deployment phase. Hope that helps!
