Valgua
Hi! Has the AI (both enemy and friendly) been improved since CMAK? I love the CM games but I'd like a better artificial opponent to play against (for me PBEM comes in a later stage, when I feel "veteran" towards the AI). Sixxkiller
Well CM Invasion Japan had great AI. I can honestly say I never beat it.
flamingknives
Now now Sixxkiller, don't wind people up. The AI follows the same rules as the human player, so it won't match a human player for a long time or without a lot of investment. BFC did mention that you get diminishing returns with AI - lots of money and time for a small improvement. What they have done is put in some scripting that allows a scenario designer to specify basic tactics, that ought to make the AI more of a threat. There's plenty on it, try using the "search" function at the top right of the forum screen.
Sixxkiller
I think playing vs humans, you will get more than your moneys worth. The AI wasnt that bad in CM before, occasionally it would win. NO Ai in any game is that good, atleast CM doesnt cheat as much as some games.
rudel.dietrich
90% of a 'good' AI will be up to the scenario designer giving the AI a workable and sound battle plan.
Sivodsi
for me PBEM comes in a later stage, when I feel "veteran" towards the AI This is a fallacy. Being able to beat the AI in CM is not good preparation for playing humans. What it is good for is getting the feel of the different kinds of equipment and maybe some practice at attacking. What you really need is regular play against a variety of players at different skill levels. Drop me a line if you want to get started.
