M1A1TC
The release date on popular site gamespy.com for CMSF says 25th July, and only a day before the release, there is no preview or review. Battlefront team, did you send them a copy for review? How many video game reviewing sites have got a copy?
Salkin
Hmm...many of the popular review sites probably wouldn't take the time to really get ingrossed into a Combat mission game if you ask me. Accessability is really important for mainstream reviewers today it seems. When review material is piling up in front of the mainstream reviewers today it's understandable how they can get intimidated when CMSF lands on their doorstep. Many of the big mags are very console oriented today it seems... There are exceptions though. I think CM got some pretty good scores from PC Gamer (UK?) or was it PC Zone? I wouldn't expect stellar reviews from Gamespot, Gamespy, IGN or 1up....I hope I'm wrong though. Maybe we can get lucky at one place or other and score 7/10 , but the best scores will probably come from the enthusiasts like SimHQ or Out of Eight. //Salkin
NoxSpartana
^^^I disagree. CMBB got a bunch of great reviews from big names in the gaming review business (IIRC gamespy was among them) EDIT: Ah yes here it is: http://gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/522049.asp?q=combat%20mission Gamespy gave it a 94%, gamespot gave it 9.1 and IGN gave it 9/10. Pretty good if you ask me.
Salkin
Serves me right. That's what you get when you post in the middle of the night. I just checked out gamerankings.com and that showed that all of the old CM games got great scores. I stand corrected, I'll happily await the 9's and 10's . NoxSpartana, I bow my head in shame . //Salkin
Severin
Well, the two big boys in the online game review world (Gamespot and IGN) have both run previews. I assume that they will do reviews as well, just perhaps not immediately.
NoxSpartana
Yeah it'll probably take a couple weeks... Even with something like HL2 you only see Gamespot's review like 3 days later.
