JonS
There are many different engines that can be fitted, and specifically which is used is a choice for the owner. I believe they are much of a muchness, and in at least one case the choice of which to use came down to which engine supplier provided the most robust after-sales service (parts delivered anywhere in the world wihtin 24 hrs, etc - very important on operations). Edit to add: I strongly suspect that all units in any given national fleet would have the same powerpack.
J Ruddy
I don't drive (LAVs) and am not involved... There is a Cat engine place not too far from where I live. I have seen Canadian LAV's and Bisons on flatbeds going in for (I assume) engine work or installation.
SgtMuhammed
The military routinely contracts different companies to make the same components. I put paks from several different companies into my 113, it just depended on what came in the box.
MikeyD
A quick web search found that Stryker uses the Army's common 350 hp Caterpiller 3126 diesel engine.
