PantherAce
It's pretty damn annoying. My computer runs CMBO smoothly, and this game choppily (word?) Anyone have similar problems and/or solutions? Danke schon. PantherAce
LibertyOrDeath
What graphics card do you use?
Ellros
Scenarios in CMBB generally require more processor and the graphics are better, so a graphics card is essential. CMBO ran smoothly for me, but the large scenarios in CMBB really slow my system down and it's occasionally choppy too. I'm running a Duron 700 at present.
Sarge77
I have a P4 1.8 with a 64 mb video card 512 k mem and it runs choppy for me. Thought I was way above requirements as to not run like this but its definitley choppy.
Thin Red Line
I kept my old P3 700Mghz CPU but i ugraded my RAM from 320 to 768Mb and bought a 128Mb graphic card and everything in CMBO and CMBB runs now very smoothly. CMBB requires very much video memory apparently.
tracer
Well first thing I would check are my vid card settings and make sure I have latest drivers. also check and see if you are running at 4 times AGP. If you know a little bout puters you might want to go into your Bios and check you settings there,if you dont know much bout em find some one a friend maybe that can come over to your house and make sure your bios settings are set right, and maybe be able to set them at max output
Madmatt
Which *specific* video card do you have? Saying its a 64meg card doesnt really say anything. If its a Radeon then you may need to turn off the z-Mask which should improve framerate a great deal. Details on how to do that can be found on this thread: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=002715 Madmatt
Sarge77
Thanks Matt, deleted drivers, reinstalled them and all works great. Placing my order for full version today.
Bimmer
I'm having choppiness issues in CMBB as well. P933 o/c to 1.1G, 384mb RAM, Voodoo5 5500 (64mb). The funny thing is, the choppiness occurs (or more specifically, becomes intolerable) in certain circumstances - scenarios with a lot of buildings seem to be particularly bad (map size notwithstanding) - but does not improve AT ALL if I reduce the resolution and/or turn off trees, doodads, smoke, weather, etc. That is to say, the choppiness is just as bad at 800x600 as it is a 1280x964. I'd love to hear if anyone has managed to get this running well on a V5-equipped system, and exactly how you managed it. Its beginning to make me a bit nutty. Thanks.
PrivateTom
My choppyness comes and goes, very strange, and it only seems to effect the mouse pointer. I have a P4 2.0, GeForce 3 and 512 mem, oh and XP.
Ralph Beaman
Any problems with the ATI GeForce 2, 64 meg (DDR), video card.
WWB
ATI GeForce2? ATI makes the competing Radeon line, so I doubt they are making nVidia based cards too. WWB
Loki
I run CMBB on a 700 with 256 megs and a GeForce 2. I have no slowdown at all. I also have a ½ gig of virtual memory and configured my box to be a network file server. Who says great games can't run on an old system.
