The Peng Challenge Thread at the End of the Universe

Recommended Posts

No one cares…

It just doesn’t matter any more.

Rules? What rules? Rules are like the little pieces of cellophane you get stuck to your fingers after opening up a brand new CD case that you can’t get off no matter how many times, nor how hard, you flick your wrist or shake your hand.

They’re like that small piece of popcorn kernal that gets stuck between your tooth and gum that you try to worry out while at the theater and you get so involved what with almost getting it out and then surreptitiously trying to pry it out with your fingernail, that you lose all concentration on the movie, and when you’re asked later, what happened to that guy… not the guy with dark hair… the other guy, the one with the glasses, you say, “Huh?”

No one comes in here any more. No one is willing to start the Thread of All Threads.

Ashes and emptiness is all that’s left.

Everyone get ready to turn in your final paper for the semester, ”What Entropy Means To Me”, but don’t wait for a grade because the grade’s too steep and the little engine can’t make it up anymore.

I remember when the Peng Challenge Thread was the nexus of the forums, the Byzantium of threads. Has it now become an aging concubine who is forever dimly lit so that the thick, cracked powder hiding her spider-web wrinkles remains hidden in shadows?

How sad…

Where are the proud Kaniggets? Have the Olde Ones faded like so many of those red paper poppies handed out on Veteran’s Day that you maybe hang from your rear view mirror and then forget about for a whole year, until you get another one and see that the old flower is now a pale pink?

Oh, tis truly a bitter, bitter pill to be washed down with hemlock (shaken not stirred) on the rocks of ages and sages and mages.

Ah… the drugs have finally taken effect.
