We're invading Syria, but it's a fictional Jihadist coup government with strong Afghanistan (as opposed to Iraq) overtones. Plus you threw in what a varied interesting land Syria is. You couldn't have played it better. I hope we don't see too much additional backstory material creeping into the game (blowing up Washington's monument or anything like that).
