Dark_au
Obviously the units we have are the pinacle of current "human" technology in the game universe. It would be nice if there was lower tech level equipment too (like the Indig forces that the Slammers are always sneering at). With the inventory system it would then be possible to make scenarios where the main forse on one side is indig equipment backed up by a small number of high tech stuff. Caseck
I agree, but maybe this will have to wait for the campaign add-on where you have soldiers, skills, money and a mercenary company to keep operating...

ClaytoniousRex
That's a very good idea, Dark. The most time consuming part is the extra modelling. For a poor-man's version, it would be a trivial exercise to simply take some of the existing units (Paladins, Shrikes, maybe?) and make less effective copies of them with some superficial texture changes. Then put them in the inventory for the defending team of some scenarios. DropTeam:CampaignsOur original game design had you flying your Liveships between planets in The Rim. You would drop into combat, which is the current game, steal loot and technology which would then be added to your persistent online Liveship inventory. You could use that stuff to repair, modify, and create units, etc. The estimated completion date of the game was December 9, 2037. So we scaled it back to the current game for now. Dark_au
Yeah That sort of thing would work too. Shrikes with a 14mm MG and sod all else painted to look like technicals. What about having bolt together parts. Like Diesel Powered Tracked Chassis and say a Turbine powered wheeled chassis ( in 4 , 6 and 8 wheeled ), a variety of low tech turrets and have them be able to be called in the scenario itself. dan/california
It would only take you until 2019 if you gave up sleep and family completely.
adzling
hey if someone wants to work on the in-game mechanics i'm totally down to do the 3d modelling.......these things are pretty easy to do compared to the detail i normally have to stick into a real designed-for manufature product
