Alexander SquidLord Williams
I'm dead certain Claytonious is swamped beyond belief with things he's looking to put in the next patch (more infantry tweaking, new types, etc) but I thought it worthwhile to mention a few things that would make overall command a lot easier overall: Automatic waypoint notes for artillery, EMP, smoke, and repair missions (since the computers have to be at least that smart in battle comm)Customizable Zoom key (as I'd like it to be 'r' so I can move and change zoom simply by rocking one finger; I've already changed the gun-change to 't'))More choices for waypoint icon (for things like axis of attack)Friendly minefields automatically visible as a ring on tactical view (possibly with fade brightness indicating how coherent it remains)Enemy minefields in detection should get marked and a waypoint added automatically (or at least be temporarily visible so a manual waypoint can be added)A new Command for Bots; 'Escort at Range' which takes a unit target and possibly a second click and/or a metre radius for the commanded units to try and stay within the radius of the target using their own pathfinding (so you don't get formations driving into oceans, for example)In fact, vehicular formations akin to the infantry ones would not go amis (as long as said vehicles were somewhat smarter about it than infantry, though they have improved)Mods that a client connects to should give you the option of downloading them for your own enjoyment later (though this may require some kind of mod package system be recognized)Some form of external map creator/editorSome nice docu on creating/editing maps, scenarios, and ultimately units I have to say, the Steel Beasts command/map interface is undoubtedly a design to aspire toward (and, in fact, given the option to overlay some contour lines, I certainly wouldn't object given how hard it sometimes is to judge slope on the tac map), but I'd settle for just a few more tools to make commanding a force a bit easier. ClaytoniousRex
Customizable Zoom keyWhatever you've mapped to the gunner view zoom will also work while in the tac display to cycle through zoom levels. Better still, you can simply use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out on the tac display (this will also move the map to the point where your cursor is at the same time). Some nice docu on creating/editing maps, scenarios, and ultimately unitsHere's a start, but more is needed. As for the rest, all good suggestions. Since gunsight is momentary, not toggle, its hard to reach over to the magnification shift with one finger. Really, mouse-wheel should control zoom in there, too. dan/california
Could we possibly get a separate category for turrets on the end of game stat sheets?
