Barrett
I recently purchased a GeForce 5200 128 mb graphics card, and I need to know if there are any compatability issues with either CMBB or CMBO that anyone knows of. Thanks in advance!
Schrullenhaft
The GeForce FX series has some problems with FSAA and CM, typically requiring you to turn off that feature (which it usually is by default) while playing CM. This problem is actually true of all GeForce cards with certain drivers. Since the GeForce FX series can only run with some of the latest drivers, you don't have much of a choice until NVidia fixes some of the bugs. There will also be a 'transparent white' problem which will require you to Alt-Tab (minimize and then maximize) CM to 'refresh' the screen. I can't recall if this problem has been addressed recently or not. The last problem is unique to the GeForce FXs because of their new color compression routines. Some colors in CM (text, bases, 'lines', etc.) will appear incorrect. Alt-Tab'ing once clears it up, but then it occurs again and Alt-Tab'ing won't clear it up the second time. This problem may have been fixed with the 44.03 or later drivers.
Barrett
Ok, welll, I installed it today and the lines did change colors, but it also seems to have made the setup stage run very poorly for some reason. Maybe it's defaulting to higher settings with this new card?
GregC
Thanks for the comments Schrullenhaft; I was finally able to get my setup working again. One thing that I tripped across was that I needed to cycle through a lot of video modes before it worked, about five minutes worth.
