I accepted your silent applause and your obvious jealousy that I am so sexy and so good. I know its a curse. Now we have Bride close to 2000 kills because he snuck in the back door while I was designing the wonderful campaigns you will all get soon in the East Front Expansion Pack. You also have to look at how many missions he had to fly to do it.... Next time you see him ask him how the research is going for the Tobruk Campaign..... We also have Buffy who is about to join the exclusive 1,000 kills club of which I dont know if you know, but I was the first person to 1000 kills. Just applaud silently please. But what I really came here to do is come and let all of you know that yesterday I achieved what can only be looked at as amazing. Yes I got my 100th Medal called an Order of the Golden Kite 4th Grade, which you only get by sweeping the skiles of enemy aircraft. Yes thats 4 kills for you guys out there in TV Land. So to sum it up 1000 kills first, 100 elite medals before anyone, and gosh darnit if I am not so sexy to boot! Thank god I dont have to mention how cute my puppy is too! And I believe you did the same there Mike-e-poo. I think I got credit for shooting down planes in customs with Sadahara 4 times. Seems like a perfectly excellent achievement to me - certainly one worth recording although I wouldn't actually be that it's the first time it's ever happened - back in the early days there were a few players who monopolised the results tables!! Getting 1 pilot to do it is ANOTHER record of a sort.....as would be getting all 24 records with your own pilots, and then with just 1 pilot!! Then it was a guy who tries to get people to believe sheep are more molested in Australia than New Sheepland, Then CSS came along and tore up the chart. Then it was the sexy guy with the 1,000 kills before anyone with the cute puppy. Now, the designer of the Tobruk campaign, that will come out in expansion pack 36 along with the Samoan Airforce at his rate of doing stuff, has widened his lead. But remember this game is a collection of good pilots. Stalin do you remember when Kevin Verssen taught you how to exit the Death Due You Part Tournament? But alas my gf almost beat Mistura in round one too. I should have matched you and her and watched her shoot you down! You are interested in being first, and I respect that. I'm interested in being the best. Let's say you were the first person to run a 5 minute mile. That's a great accomplishment. If later I run a 3 minute mile, I feel that's even more impressive. Sure, there are other people who may have had all 18 leaderboard records in the distant past. But I accomplished that feat when it was the most difficult and now I'm not sure it will ever be repeated. If it *is* repeated, that person deserves all our proper respect! It seems capturing all 18 leaderboard records will require an order of magnitude more effort than getting 2000 kills or 100 highest medals. If I were to set the hardest goals for myself they would be to bust my 801 kills/damages in one month record, or to break my all 18 leaderboard simultaneously record. Trying to best those two records would really require planning and dedication, much more so than 1000 kills or 100 medals, don't you think? Not too hard to get to 2000 kills my friend. I bet if a lot of people here played 900 missions they would have 2000 kills. And look at buffy, he has the actual highest kills per mission record, not us as he didnt have access to the custom missions. And Sadaharas wingman would have the real xp per mission record too if he didnt have 10 missions that didnt count while I was testing the customs. And wasnt it you that was complaining about me getting 700 xp per mission and then you get added back to the test team and what do you do? You play custom missions to try to validate your record? Give me a break. And if you notice I can easily catch you and do it better. I even told you that Shuderian had every record at one point, back when it was actually harder to get kills than now. But I am not trying to take away from that "record" you have even if a few of the stats are exactly what you were pissed off about. I was worried it would throw off the delicate experience balance established in the game thus far if people could get 300 experience/mission max instead of 150. Brian wrote me back that the custom missions had been adjusted to only provide 1/2 the experience. I created a pilot, Customs Only, to test the best possible experience per mission I could get with the 1/2 experience penalty. I saw that I could achieve 300 experience per mission and I wrote to Brian that it needed to be adjusted even more. He wrote back that it will be adjusted, but hasn't been given the 1/2 penalty yet. Since I hadn't played any prior custom missions I didn't know that. When I realized that I had been getting full experience, I immediately asked Brian to lower Custom Only's experience by half. I will email you copies of my correspondence with Brian verifying all this. You paint a picture of me as a person abusing the custom mission experience problem. I see myself as a person who identified the problem, then tried to verify it was fixed. When I found out I was contributing to the problem, I asked that my pilot be penalized.
