Schrullenhaft
I believe you may need to check your 'horizon' setting. Shift-H should scroll through the options, which will be distances in meters. I'm not sure if this effect goes completely away though, since I occasionally see items pop up once I get closer.

Sabrewolf
I think what you are seeing are doodad graphics such as small bushes or grass which is just there to make things looks better but have no other tactical uses and therefor to save memory, those doodads that are further from your view is hidden.
spwaw
i thoot that gf4 128mb can handle bushes and other landscape thing and dont save memory at this point. Or is it the game, what save the memory and hide somethings in horizon?
Schrullenhaft
The 'extreme' settings should mimimize the 'horizon popup' of trees and 'doodads'. I don't know what to say of buildings, vehicles, etc. that have this problem. I've seen this 'disappearing act' on low-memory video cards (whose driver apparently dictates/limits the drawing horizon for objects), but I don't know why the GeForce4 would have this problem. Are you using any sort of 'tweaking' program on your GeForce ?
