Monwar
(Heh heh, 'Sherman Nation' is a quip from American Pie 2. Those who have seen the movie know it has nothing to do with the Sherman.) I thought that Russians produced more T-34s than the Allies produced Sherman during world war 2. However I recently saw a figure (in wikipedia.com perhaps) that 58,000 Shermans were produced and only 34,000+ T-34's. I heard they produced some 60,000+ T-34s. Does anyone here have any idea what the actual figures are?
Björn Eriksson
According to Battlefield.ru, 34780 T-34/76 and 23214 T-34/85, for a total of 57994 tanks were manufactured between 1940 and 1945.

Of course, the Korean War saw a lot more use of those.
Sergei
According to my WWII encyclopedia, 48347 Sherman tanks were built during the war. That would make for a difference of 9647.
