The British with Churchill on their Island refuses to do battle with the Axis after the humiliating loss of Egypt and the MiddleEast. Though Promises endless economic aide to Stalin until Wars end. This is realized but cut off by a German assualt in '42. Turkey is brought into the War, Russian Garrisons take up position on the border there, advanced German Paratroopers, Mountain Troops along with endless Armored Columns from the MiddleEast pour in from Syria-Iraq and swallow the Massive Nation. After this the Greatest Battle in History occurs... Millions of Fresh Russians enter the Mountains in the Caucasus to defend the Motherland's Natural Oil Resources to the death, but the Luftwaffe and advanced German Army slowly crushes the Russians, like a meatgrinder... The entire Russian army Freezes in the Mountains there and some shattered remnants retake up positions in the Urals, all experienced Mountain troops... Apparently this German Commander prepared his Soldiers for Mountain Fighting and gave them excellent Coats! In West the USA and UK combine together with their greatest Scientific Minds and figure the only way to retake Europe would be not to sacrifice one Army Soldier and spend the entirety of their countries combined income on A-Bombs and Super Bombers of all kinds. Which are brought to bare on Berlin... Though nothing atomic is created, the city is burned to the ground in a firestorm unparalleled in history. FDR claims,"if we cannot reconquor Europe we shall kill every last able German..." This of course is only a Theory and has yet to proved for the comming Year FireStorms shall erupt all over Germany and the occuppied nations, Tens of thousands of Allied Bombers pouring out endless bombs... Terif Posted September 9, 2007 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Yep, UK tried a full Egypt defence and sent everything it had into this battle...but Axis was prepared and had 2 german HQs with appropriate troops and full airsupport to clear the desert from its rats...all british tank and army size forces destroyed after a bloody but short battle . Westafrica and Spain also fell to Axis after a larger naval battle around Gibraltar where 3 UK battleships and 2 cruisers got sunk. The german main forces were now already in Africa and transporting back would have been expensive...so the german Oberkommando decided to establish a land connection via Turkey and attack Russia from the southern flank directly into its Caucasian heart. In the west Allies conquered Scandinavia in the meantime, establishing their bomber bases in the southern part. End of 1942 also the combined allied fleet broke through into the Baltic after removing the guarding german cruiser unit in Kopenhagen port - air and bomber decimated the rest of the german Kriegsmarine (2 subs, 1 cruiser), only Tirpitz survived so far in Königsberg. German HQ in Finland tasted the allied LR 3 air and carriers until it retreated out of range - a full task force including tanks is there...awaiting any invaders...german bombers at Helsinki monitor the Baltic for amphibious transports while 6 high tech allied bombers raze Germany and Denmark to the ground. We are now in Spring 1943 - German forces sieging Ural - in a huge tank battle during the previous turns destroying the last russian tanks...just conquered the southern russian city there and 5 (rebuilt) german tanks arrive from the production queue ...Russia has only one city left with lots of entrenched troops around it. In the west 2 new naval battles occur: US subs near Portugal are under attack by italian cruisers, an allied cruiser near Bordeaux reduced to str 1 by Bismarck and italian battleships - neither of them should be able to escape as the allied main fleet is still in the Baltic - with the carriers just moving back via Kopenhagen towards the channel...meantime in the Atlantic axis subs start raiding convois... Liam Posted September 9, 2007 Author Share Posted September 9, 2007 Right now the Russians fortified up in the Urals with about 20 units, and have held out there for nearly 6 months. Shows what you can do with a Good Fortification... No Axis Air, land combo has been easily able to crack this. However There are very little holes in the Axis Garrisons in the West, I have been hunting them up and as you've heard there is no where for the British and Americans to get in. Terif Posted September 9, 2007 Share Posted September 9, 2007 Yea, 4 german tank groups level 2 are defending the west - most of them positioned around Berlin and Prague - together with a dozen corps/armies . Extremely bloody battles in Caucasus - Germany looses around 20-30 army strength points each turn even if the units survive like 2 of my armies last turn at str 1 + 2...in the allied counter next turn another german Paratrooper and army will probably bite the dust . But in the Atlantic the Axis navy now rules the sea...german subs move to Ireland, Manchester and Scotland, sinking every merchant ship they can find while italian and german battleships target practice on US transports...one of them sunk west of Ireland...Atlantic transfer route closed . Liam Posted September 10, 2007 Author Share Posted September 10, 2007 Axis are closing in the Russian Last Stand, despite the Heavy Casualties, the Axis morale is unwavering. It was rumoured 1 million casualties against Fortress Urals would have dissuaded the Axis Commanders to commit their men, this is not the case... Only an Army Group of Russians remain fighting to the bitter end in hand to hand fighting! Soon to the Streets as well! In the West, a Premature Allied Landing in Denmark and Poland will likely be crushed, Allied High Command had heard rumours that Warsaw was undefended and this was not the case when an entire Airborne Army of Americans dropped, this will mean their immediate surrender. The American Army attempted to free them up by destroying Tirpitz in Konigsburg Port, but did not succeed... Even still Denmark is Liberated, and an Armada of Axis Subs float in the North Atlantic, Iron Sharks... The Allies continue their Bomber attacks on German cities but despite hundreds of thousands dead and even more homeless the Axis relocate their citizens to the far stretches of their Empire without losing Their War Aims, Total Victory! Terif Posted September 10, 2007 Share Posted September 10, 2007 July 4th, 1943 - Victory day : The last surviving russian soldiers in Ural lay down their arms after a last bloody german offensive and Russia surrenders to the overwhelming Axis forces. In Poland german tanks from Berlin+Prague take the US paratroopers prisoner, infantry from Königsberg and Warsaw receive the capitulation of the remaining US forces in the area. Meanwhile in the Atlantic 6 axis subs begin to starve England out - no convoy comes through any more neither from Canada, USA nor Norway . Unfortunately Ireland that was empty the previous turns just got a british garrison force. Italian paratroopers land in Scotland and find it defended too - so Axis amphibious invasion forces positioned in the Atlantic have to change plans... Western Allies could keep Naval Domination but the Subs are too numerous and have completely cut off the Atlantic Supplies. Along with this, No further Allied offensives possible, Dozens of German Units transfer from the Eastern Front! To Summize, Bomber Strategy a Failure, Axis needed more direct pressure on their frontiers far earlier to alleviate USSR. Also very Brilliant Manuever into Turkey by the Axis, nearly a Coup De Ta...(SP?) not even a real invasion... Linking the Caucasus-MidEast-North Africa and giving the Axis a direct line to the richest portions of the USSR.. Russians would've lost the equivelant of 10-15 Million field Soldiers... They mantained as best they could, they built well but needed more room to retreat! With more time USA strategy could've knocked out 20% of German production or more. Terif's aggressive strategy bypassed my Western Strategy and Crushed head on my Russians. Germans took heavy casualties but had no real land opposition and could afford them...
