Armuss
Situation: 1944, I have 8 Sub (& Battleship, two Cruisers & Destroyer), AI (difficulty - intermediate+0,5) - Allies, prepares to landing in Normandy. AI know (long spotting) - my fleet is strong. Good plan: produced many Destroyers, eliminated Subs & landing. AI in game: loading to Amphibious Transports & my many Subs eliminated 90% invading forces... In Normandy landing only three units... Invading & war (in practice) absolutly failed... John DiFool the 2nd
Yeah, the AI doesn't pay attention to relative force strengths when deciding when/if to invade. If it fulfills the requirements of the relevant invasion script (date + available units), off they all sail, even if you have a dozen subs lurking off of Brest, plainly visible to his bombers. I've had it continuing to send units to France even as I am sailing my units to England for a late-war Sealion.
Hyazinth von Strachwitz
@ Armuss: try a higher Difficulty level.. the AI doesn`t get better, but the game gets way more difficult.. and due to the strength of the russian forces on the eastern front you won`t be able to buy all Subs.. makes it more realistic. I play on 100%/+2, and that`s a challenge, believe me..
