Aragorn2002
In games as Steel Beasts and Panzer Commander one can sometimes see flying turrets after a tank has been hit. I love it and wonder why it is not included in Combat Mission. It is such a spectacular effect, which belongs in a great game such as this. ParaBellum
You have to realize that when the CMBO engine was developed, the entire staff consisted of two people. Steve&Charles, and in fact Charles was the only programmer. So, it was a small project with very limited ressources. It had to be decided what could be done in a given amount of time with limited budget. Detailed armour penetration values, historical accuracy, AI programming, flashy graphics... So, flashy graphics were not the most important part in the development. If the 'flying turrets' had been included something (IMO) more important would have been left out. It's simply a matter what to do with (very) limited ressources. With the engine rewrite (a.k.a. CM II) I'm sure we'll see vastly superior graphics, dynamic lighting, particle effects, etc... Aragorn2002
I understand. And they did an amazing job. I bought this game last week and I'm very impressed. In fact I took some days off to make it a long weekend, just to be able to play this game. I can't forgive myself for not having discovered this game a bit earlier.
