lewallen
I've made a high-res 20m grid-overlay terrain mod for CMBB. If you're interested, GJK has graciously offered to host the files. You can download the mod from: http://www.garykrockover.com/cmbb/CMBB_full_gridoverlay.zip for the whole thing in one 30 MB file, or from: http://www.garykrockover.com/cmbb/CMBB_gridoverlay_split.exe http://www.garykrockover.com/cmbb/CMBB_gridoverlay_split.c00 http://www.garykrockover.com/cmbb/CMBB_gridoverlay_split.c01 for the file split up into three parts (and slightly smaller at 25 MB due to different compression). Screenshots can be found here. ~Sam [ September 27, 2002, 07:29 AM: Message edited by: lewallen ]
GJK
I've made it easier for everybody. Just go to http://www.garykrockover.com/cmbb/ and you will see a filelist with size and name. I'll be uploading my version of the flag mod that was posted yesterday, taking the "orange" tint out of the large German flag by making it a deep red color. Voxman
Hello, Could you add some pics so I can see what it looks like ?
Sgian Dubh
Hint concerning screenshots: In the original post, note the text: "Screenshots can be found here."
GJK
Screenshots are now available. Let me know if the German flag still looks too orange. And thanks to the original mod-artist on this, he needs to have credit for it.
oddball
Lewallen, My sincere thanks for, making up the grid overlay, as well as to GJK for hosting 'em. They sure make discerning elevation changes a lot easier on these tired, old eyes. Regards, Oddball
Captain Wacky
These are great, but could you do a more subdued version? I think Richard Tremblett did a semi-transparent grid line version of his velvet grass mod at CMHQ.
CKibler
Ya, a more subtle version would, imho, be nicer.
GJK
I've uploaded a TOTALLY UNTESTED grass mod, that I would love to test once my game arrives...but it's "real grass" bmp's. I overlayed what Lewallen had done with a sample of an actual pic of some Russian countryside grass. I resampled it to fit and converted to bmp. I don't know if it will even work, so obviously, back up your originals first. You can grab this mod (16 mb) from my site at http://www.garykrockover.com/cmbb/ (real_grass.zip) Screenshots are also provided.

lewallen
...working on the low-visibility terrain. Hopefully will have more news on it tomorrow. ~Sam
lewallen
OK, the new terrain files are on their way to GJK's rapidly growing mod archive. The two I made are 50% and 25% of the visibility of the original one. The 25% one especially is quite subtle. I'm still using middle-gray for the color, as it doesn't disappear into any of the terrain tiles totally, and nor does it look too grossly unnatural like neon blue or something but if anyone has suggestions for a better color that would still stand out, let me know. In the meantime, have fun! ~Sam
mchlstrt
I'm trying to DL the VeryLow & I seem to be getting sent to a page of Code. Nice Pics, though. I did successfully DL some stuff yesterday (or the day before?). Thanks Strt
Sitting Duck
If I recall correctly, there was a CMBO grid mod that showed elevation in the grid lines. Low elevation grid lines were dark and higher elevation grid lines were lighter. Is that possible? If so, how was it done?
