Rob Murray
When the patch for CMBB is released will it be necessary to install it on a " clean " game? By clean I mean no saved games, no altered bmp folders, etc. I'm asking because I patched a game about a month ago & it had to be a " clean " game before I could install the patch. I know it's early to be expecting the patch but I'm just wondering.
WWB
Not likely. It willl probably overwrite some of your BMPS and WAVs, but scenarios and savegames should be just fine. WWB
Rob Murray
Thanks. So I should probably copy the " old "bmp folder before installing the patch? Just wondering.
Redwolf
Best would be to install mods not directly over your existing bmp folder. Instead install all mods to one seperate folder and copy that one over the bmp folder. That way, you can have the patch patch whatever bmps it wants to touch and then you reinstall all your mods at once.
Pascal DI FOLCO
I can't be sure for CMBB, for could be positive at 99% : NO, you won't have to reinstall anything. All CMBO patches came as a new exe and some bmp and wav files, one (the TCP/IP patch) had a dll... CM engine doesn't use complicated resources files à la NeverWinter and BTS neither issued "update patches" but only entire files.
