On the lookout for maps

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I am on the lookout for 2cm maps (1:50000) of the Normandy area. Preferably the Caen area covering opreation "Goodwood" and the invasionbeaches of the british and the canadians.

Does anyone know where to obtain these maps (even for a price). They have to be from the period 1939 to 1944.

Please help me guys. Maps in larger scales will be very interesting too.

I still have this, but not on the web (it's 47MB). Let me know if you want it so we can arrange a handover.

%%

1st Infantry Division 1:2,500 assault maps for Dog White and Dog Green

beaches at Omaha. They have all the known German defenses on them.

The main map is divided into 6 sheets, going East to West, as if you

were facing the coast. A detail map of hill 192 is on an extra sheet.

The map legend comes in 4 scanned pages, see below.

Each sheet is scanned into 4-8 parts in jpeg files. Two resolutions

are provided, the best we could gest (highres) and one scaled down

version that is meant to be the minimum to read the texts (lowres).

Each zipfile contains all these parts/files, plus an overview file

(except for the legend). You can also browse the directory if you need

to get individual jpeg files.
