Dirtweasle
You were able to crawl with skis on? you've got some good knees! I think the problem is with them having to crawl in order to sneak, and they cannot crawl with skis on.
Michael Emrys
If you give the order to advance, they remove their skis. Then you can order them to hide. But you know, don't you, that once they take their skis off, they can't put them back on? Michael
Dirtweasle
Yes I think that is his point exactly. It is odd they cannot put the skis back on, is'nt it?

It's the same thing as dropping your rucksack or pack - you fight light, then come back after the battle to pick up the stuff you dropped.
Dirtweasle
Maybe skis should be portrayed as a vehicle?

Michael Emrys
I think if you send them into a building with any kind of move order they also remove their skis. Michael
illo
Can you also remove skis in battle setup. (at start of scenario?) If so, how?

Michael Emrys
That looks like awfully thin armor to me, more like sheet metal. Might stop medium-sized birdshot but I wouldn't want to count on it for anything more. Michael
audace
IIRC, something similiar was used here during the first world war. There were many types of "personal armoured shields", but I don't think they were "that" effective.
Tero
Seems to me there are things done differently in various armies. Here is how it was (is) done in the Finnish army.
