The 40mm grenade from an M203 has a slightly greater arming distance than that. I think that it's up to 50m, IIRC. The burst radius is given as 5m (this is from the army infantry field manuals. Olaf Posted July 15, 2002 Share Posted July 15, 2002 The arming distance for the current M203 HEDP round is 14+ meters with an effective burst radius of 5 meters(15 feet).The explosion is very impressive and is a sharp, "crack".
