John Kettler
Today KDOC TV, Channel 19 in Los Angeles, California on Time Warner Cable ran two episodes of the old series (1962) "The Rat Patrol" back to back. Was very surprised to see some unusual small arms--on both sides. Among the Rat Patrol guys there wasn't a Tommy Gun to be seen, but there were Beretta Model 1938 SMGs, and I think the Brit had a Sten (got distracted by the exotic small arms and didn't pay much attention). The D.A.K. contingent had no MP 38s or MP 40s but instead had, so help me, Bergmann MP 34s and Ermas. Early in one episode, there was a sniper with a properly scoped Kar 98K. The D.A.K. force had a Kubel and what looked like credible period trucks, but armor was the U.S. halftrack with the map platform above the main troop compartment, and the tanks were M41 Walker Bulldogs. The_Enigma
Its like this pic of some squaddies on a Valentine: link to pic the guy to the right of the main gun (>>>that way) is holding an Italian SMG. I did not recall seeing such a thing before that pic and took me quite a while to fond out what it was.

John Kettler
Saw a few more episodes last night. The plots were beyond ridiculous, but there was some nice military hardware to go with the stupid made up stuff. 2 cm towed Flak, Zundapp? w/ sidecar, and a Pak 36 im Sahara Gelb.
