BFC and troops! Affordable grog resource found!!!

Recommended Posts

It's here. Incredible things are available for $10 U.S. a CD. Weapon grogs will love the TMs, OOB types the FMs, and scenario designers and historians

the operational reports.

Seems to be a far superior deal to the wealth of rather expensive material available in photocopied

form from here.

WineCape,

I haven't yet, money being somewhat tight at present. I will say, though, that it would be trivial for me to find $200.00 worth of stuff to order from there. If the CD with the manuals happened to be in the batch, that would mean

136 manuals for $5.00 (factoring in the just expired 50% off deal). Let us know if you order.

Here's another one. Mercifully, there seems to be relatively little overlap between this one and the first one I listed. The armor recognition manuals

will probably be of some interest to the treadheads here. Others may find the ship and aircraft manuals

useful. Some juicy operational stuff will be availabel on this site in due course.

Panther Commander,

Then I probably shouldn't tell you that the combat and command volumes, together with the pictorial volumes, for the Army green series are also there.

The image quality is way better than in the printed books, since the images aren't washed out by the nonenameled paper and are much larger. Look at the Pak 40 here to see what I mean.

Tagwyn,

No, but a man can dream, can't he? I own about a dozen of the green series in hardback, notably the chemical warfare volumes (flamethrowers, WP, incendiaries) and the hard to come by ordnance volumes, but space is a real issue here because I'm sharing a rented house. Luckily, there aren't many readers here, so I got no grief when I took over the built in bookcases. Even so, I have additional knockdown bookcases set up, including one in the den. My purpose in posting these finds is to help share the informational wealth with the troops, for historical reading, research, and scenario design.

Some of you know this one, but be advised that some of the U.S. stuff can be had for a veritable song elsewhere. The 50 war movie DVD set I got from

www.overstock.com has, inter alia, Huston's The Battle of San Pietro, Hively's Attack: The Battle of New Britain, and Wyler's Memphis Belle, at less than a dollar a film. That said, there's stuff here available nowhere else that I know of.

And this one, found while seeking wartime training films, offers simply incredible stuff in a wealth of areas (looks like a must bookmark for anyone with kids), to include some very offbeat World War II material from home and abroad.
