MS-Longhorn

Hi,

I have to confess that I know nothing about these matters. However, my guess is that Longhorn will have to be backwardly compatible with existing programs at the time of its launch. Reasonably recent, existing programs anyway. So I would be surprised if CMX2 were not compatible.

All the best,

Kip.

PS. I guess Longhorn will be designed for a 64 bit processor, but be able to run some 32 bit programs?

You are asking, if an engine yet to be designed will work with an operating system that is not even in beta yet. OK, then I'll commit to a "it should", as long as MS doesn't break anything new. If you notice, Longhorn isn't scheduled to be released till 2006. I will wait till Longhorn gets to beta and will test it with the existing engine, and CMX2 if it is ready by that time.
