Le Tondu
If one makes a scenario with a beach in it that fills up an entire side (say one about Crete for instance), will there be the usual hills off in the distance or will we have water going as far as the eye can see? An important distinction, in my opinion. What about if it is an island that fits inside the map? Will the horizon have water all the way around it? Many thanks.
Michael Dorosh
Wasn't Crete larger than 15 square kilometres???
Le Tondu
Yes Sir it was. Surely fighting took place along the beaches of Sicily and elsewhere along the Italian Coast?
Le Tondu
I have a specific place in mind that was 7 kilometers long by 1.5 kilometers wide. After living there for a year, I know for certain that the Germans and Italian military were there. (I even met several of them.) Historically speaking, strategic bombers and the interdiction of supply ships by fighter aircraft and naval assets settled the matter. Still there is no reason not to create a fun hypothetical scenario. Don't you think?

Moon
No, the background does not detect if there is water all the way or not. You could, of course, make a scenario and offer a modded replacement background with it that fits the surroundings you want to depict. A bit like what Eichenbaum is doing for his campaign. (This idea can, of course, just as well be extended to uniforms and unit textures to represent the actual units present and so on...)
