Inneremont
I have downloaded CMBB 1.03 patch(EU) from a couple of sites and my virus detection program states that the Patch includes a Win32:Virut virus. I tried all free Patches (Filefront, GameZone...) I could find and the same thing with all of them. Now what is this? Is it my virus detection or is there really a virus?
stikkypixie
If there is a virus, then you won't notice its effects, because I have 1.03 and never noticed anything . Just to be sure, download from a reliable site.

Inneremont
My virus protection is up to date (I use the latest Avast version), that´s not the problem. The problem is that it seems to find this virus in every 1.03 file I download. I thought that Filefront and GameZone were reliable sites, are they? I found a version of 1.03 that I downloaded in 2006 on a Cd and did a virus scan on it, same result! Should I ignore the virus and use the update? Do you have any links to safe (and free) sites I could try? CDV link doesn´t seem to work...
Philippe
You might want to send an e-mail to support@battlefront.com explaining your problem and listing the sites you downloaded the patch from. They're usually very responsive when something like this is called to their attention. They probably don't have direct control over how CDV posts patches, but they can probably suggest something. I have the American version so it's not an issue, but are you sure the version you bought isn't already patched to 1.03?
Inneremont
I bought the game in 2005, so no it´s not 1.03. I think it was 1.0 from start... I wrote to support@battlefront.com let´s see what they say.
David White
I bought in 2005 and the game was patched to 1.03
Philippe
If you bought a game in the US in 2005 it was probably either the Battlefront or the US CDV version (which is what I got in 2005 when I bought mine). The Euro version is something else, if for no other reason than that it has weird concessions to European political correctness laws. The US versions are more authentic -- they call a spade a spade, and not a wafflegrenadier. There is an unofficial patch, however, for removing the ahistorical elements that were imposed on the European version for political and legal reasons. I'm pretty sure you can get it at Mark Gallear's site. If I had the Euro version I would try to trade it in for the American version, though that would probably have to be done through CDV. Failing that, just go online and buy the US CDV Special Edition which has extra scenarios and lots of mods. I'm still surprised that they were selling 1.0 in Finnland in 2005. But not shocked.
Inneremont
Well I got the answer in 1 day! Talk about service! Here is the reply: "With thousands of people playing with that patch version, I would have to say that your virus checker is not giving you the right info. That can happen at times but all of the mirror sites also virus check their hosted files and would delete it if it was infected so I think the file is fine." I installed the patch and as suspected nothing bad happened. Well better safe than sorry...
