John Kettler
From an admittedly controversial site comes a most remarkable article with lots of modder usable goodies on ROA. Found it while researching Red Army bridgehead defense on behalf of Der Alte Fritz. http://www.vho.org/tr/2003/1/Strauss63-69.html Regards, John Kettler

Holman
If you're interested in Vlasov, you really should read William Vollmann's novel EUROPE CENTRAL. Vollmann is a genius, and the book is intelligent, funny, human, and miles beyond the hardware fetishism of most fiction about war. The book is actually a series of intertwined novellas (some a dozen pages long, some two hundred). The longest of them focus on Paulus at Stalingrad, Vlasov among the Germans, and the composer Shostakovich during his time in the siege of Leningrad. At least look it up on Amazon. This is probably the best novel that will ever be written about the horror of the war in the East, and (because Vollmann is still a "writer's writer") it remains relatively unknown.

z-warfare
Just picked up Europe Central, got a few pages into it and it is definitely far from hardware fetishism... Some cool semi-historical vignettes. But I don't know what to make of the Soviet lesbian sex scenes. They seem somehow gratuitous.
John Kettler
John D Salt, Technolatry? I like it! Is that a word you coined? If so, bravo! Regards, John Kettler

But if you like, you can skip to the sections on Paulus, Vlasov, etc.
