disorder
havent ever had a problem with this before... win 98 3 year old pc, 840x680 16 bit color display. today when loading a .sav file, after an unusually long wait, i was ejected to a small "dos" box with a blinking curser. if this box was minimized, my pc would be on 1024x768 settings, evidently changed by the sc game. box would minimize, but not close. had to restart pc. i can load a saved game, but not a pbem. no hotseat either. when ejected out of hotseat, box instantaneously had a message(error?) but could not read it. probably an easy problem you've seen thousands of times, right? oh, i also tried a different .sav file than the one in pbem to make sure it wasnt a corrupt file [ August 18, 2003, 12:09 AM: Message edited by: disorder ]

Hubert Cater
Definitly sounds like something the SC save loader couldn't handle. Yes you could try to reinstall SC or perhaps just delete your SAVE and PBEM folders as they may contain other corrupt files not sure. I've even heard of save files having been set to read only by email programs or the operating system itself (couldn't tell you why) and this has been a cause of problems as well. Hope this helps, Hubert
kurt88
Disorder If the problem persists,I won't mind to starting over (we weren't far anyway ) Maybe try TCP/IP instead of PBEM. Ofcourse we would have to clear it with the team captains. [ August 18, 2003, 02:03 PM: Message edited by: kurt88 ]
