We need a config file!

I am thinking specifically of the kind of file

the Civ games have: they allow you to tweak

(using a simple text editor) various parameters,

such as unit stats, plus many other things (in

SC, I would change sub evasion from 25% +5%

per level of tech to 30% +8%-which would make

those Type XXIs real hard to kill (as it should

be). To prevent cheating these values are locked

in once a game starts.

So how about it Hubert? ;)

As originally posted by Straha:

Though if I had to choose, I would first want a more powerful scenario editor allowing me to setup the initial forces of the countries not at war.

Amen to that. Of all the possible changes in a patch or SC-II, this would be my #1 choice.

Ditto. I was pushing hard for this also until we were all rudely interrupted by the hacker who shall remain nameless. Some way to legally edit game parameters, not executable source code, would be outstanding. A separate file which could be modified with a simple text editor would be fine. Or some other editor program would be nice. And further down the road, a map editor would be nice to have also.
