The French resources are wearing thin. UK is comiting more troops to the French cause. They will not let the French loose their precious capital.

Now that all the Italian cities and borders are manned by the military they've officially told the CP that they will not support their barbaric expansion, although they will not pass the Italian borders if the CP do not show hostilities.

imag0298.jpg

On the Russian front the fighting is bloody, more troops are flowing to the cause, the military keeps on training men in the hopes of not having to recruit more men from the streets to form corps. If the UK is becoming more active in the battle this should be of great help in taxing the CP to the limit.

UK diplomats are still pressuring the US in joining the conflict, politicians know of the consequences should the CP win but the public is still unconcerned with what they call a continuation of European history. Although some US troops have brought French instructors to train them in the use of grenades.

We'll both give you input on how it went once completed.

So far I'm finding it hard for the French but that's how it went in WW1.

I think I might have made a mistake and I'm trying to correct it.

One thing is for sure, if France falls, it is pretty much game over since MPP production from UK and USSR will not be able to keep up and US involvment in WW1 was token.

Hardest thing so far is how much MPP is lost by UK to transport troops to solidify Italy. Corps on each Italian cities and 2 Italian armies would probably resolve that.

Only one thing: maybe the game should be set up in a manner that allowed a first russian attack capable of diverting german attention from the western front. With the suggested house rule of no russian move\attack until 3rd turn, CP can attack in both directions, forcing an early russian surrender (if your suggested house rule that at the second russian city taken, civil war breaks out), and easily (esp. with 2 or 3 rocket detach.) sending the frenchmen in the sea.

Maybe urrs should be given some corps on german border, with which create some trouble capable of forcing the germans to operate a couple of armies. 3 years of war are a long time, and US entry could be too much delayed.

So far the ruskies are ok, we took out the rule about 2 cities falling. It just made no sense. No way in hell a big country like russia would surrender after loosing 2 cities.

Russia is holding out pretty well so far, I`m actually causing him more casualities on that front.

So far the biggest issue is Italy not having its own troops and having to ship them from UK, costing extra mpp and time. As I said, Italy should have started with corps on each city and 2 army groups. This would make UK available from the start which until these upcoming turns I have not being able to do so, except for sending corps to their slaughter in the hopes of slowing down the german advance in France.

Overall it is pretty well done, the Italy thing is the only issue on my side. Germans seem to be done quite well.

CP's turn 10,

Operation Wasserwurst has begun. For the first time in this war did the German surface fleet engage the Royal Navy. And although the action was very limited German Navy Command was pleased with it's results.Battleship Hannover steamed up to Brussels port and from there attacked the New Zealand. Both ships took moderate damage.More operations are being planned and ships are being put into position.

imag1808.jpg

'German warships leaving the Baltic Sea'

Meanwhile on the western front the fighting continues.Although no more land was conquered, then German Army again inflicted some serious damage to the French lines.

In a first action the last British corps behind German lines was destroyed by Conrad's armor, the 2nd Munich Corps and the 1st Army.

2nd and 5th Army attacked the Callep Up Army of France north of Paris bringing it down to 30%.

More to the south another French Corps was reduced to 3 by actions of the 3rd Army with 'Die Grosse' in support.

imag0171.jpg

German gas cannisters lined up near an artillery site.

In the east the Russians are putting up a good fight.8th Army attacked the 13th Russian Army reducing it to 40%.The 2nd Austro-Hungarian Army attacked a neighbouring Corps doing 4 damage. The German Caled Up Army and the Austro-Hungarian Balkan Army attacked the Russian 5th Army bringing it back to 20%.

Odessa was bombed again by the Goeben Cruiser and a Turkish Navy cruiser.

The red army is striking back at the enemy with great success, another army has fallen and another unit is badly damaged. This should help force the enemy to spend more resources.

The good news about the russian successes reaches the french trenches

Pickett6.jpg

A great naval battle is underway east of UK, one enemy ship was sunk but we have a severly damaged ship who will most likely be sunk, other enemy units have suffered casualties.

On the French front, UK army groups have arrived and moved in on the enemy managing to engage and cause casualties to a few battalions.

Still some French troops remain at the front ready to fight.

ph2.JPG

Italy has officially declared it will not support the CP aggression and will hold its ground firm and make them pay dearly should they try to cross the Italian mountains.

US politicians are saying they wish to comit troops but it will only be a minor one since the American people are just not interested in the overseas conflict. Preparations are underway to have their best units go to the front.

CP's Turn 11

RETREAT IN RUSSIA !!

imag1109.jpg

Heavily battered German elements in retreat towards Warsaw.

German High Command ordered the tactical retreat of German and Austro-Hungarian forces to the Polish-Russian border.Supply problems and continous Russian counterattacks were the cause of this.von Moltke decided it would be best to regroup near the Fatherland, dig in and resupply and build up for a new offensive. No immediate gains were to be made in Russia, only a slow defeat.

NAVAL BATTLE NEAR JUTLAND !!

Operation Wasserwurst has commenced in earnest.Although the Royal Navy managed to sink a German battleship the Kriegsmarine is far from finished.Near Jutland our forces attacked the British fleet in full force.

The Blutcher Cruiser attacked the heavily damaged Invincible and sunk it.U-18,together with Koningsberg Cruiser gave the crew of the Iron Duke a seaman's grave. Also the Herflinger cruiser attacked the Queen Mary and heavily damaged it.

Hannover battleship was resupplied and brought back to full strenght in Brussels port. Two more English battleships are down to 5 and 3 while our cruiser are in perfect or very good state.

imag1840.jpg

Picture of the HMS Invincible, moments before it went down.

MORE PROGRESS IN THE WEST !!

A newly arrived British corps was attacked by 2nd and 5th Army.British casualties were heavy.

In the south, the new British Expedition Army was destroyed by attacks of the 4th and 3rd Army.Victory was obtained by 'Die Grosse',our monster cannon that for the first time was a decisive factor in the battle.

In the North 1st Army and the 2nd Munich Corps attacked a newly arrived British corps bringing it down to 40%.

Other troops were reinforced and refitted.

imag1063.jpg

A captured English trench.

*note :

This scenario is very well balanced in my opinion. It feels like WWI trench warfare.Little mobility and lots of reinforcing, slow progress, deadly counterattacks, and now we even have a seabattle at Jutland.

Mother Russian lives! After a few successfull counter attacks from trained Army groups the German armies have retreated.

eww117.jpg

The Russian Generals have given orders to chase the enemy to the borders and secure the lines.

More German troops were hit as they made their way to their homeland.

On the Western front, the French / UK troops were surprised by a Tank unit, obviously resource issues are not a problem for the German military. Even so, the troops reacted well and managed to reduce it to half its strengh, it will most likely retreat and will have to spend time refiting.

The Western front is struggling to hold the line, the British have sent some leadership to help in the cause and a flood of British men are enlisting to "fight the good fight".

fww1512.jpg

In the high seas the British navy took heavy damage but in counter attacks managed to sink a few enemy vessels. Only 3 vessels remain of the German navy, only one has minor damages but we are confident this will put them on the run.

CP's Turn 12,

MORE VICTORIES IN THE WEST !!

German troops are now in control of the southern roads into Paris. After heavy fighting, the elite 2nd and 4th Army destroyed a guarding Franch corps and the Defense Corps was able to take over the roads leading into Paris.Half of the proud French capital is now surrounded.

In other fighting on the French front 1st Army destroyed another British corps invading on the Channel coast.More to the south heavy shelling by 'Die Grosse' and infantry attacks by elements of the 6th Army reduced a French corps to 30%.

A British corps guarding the northern entrance to Paris was attacked by the 2nd Munich Corps and the 5th Army bringing it down to 6.

imag0123.jpg

Lead elements of the veteran Defense Corps marching into southern Parisien suburbs.

On the eastern front, things stay rather quiet. The Central Powers are digging in on the Russian-Polish border and are being pursued by the troops of the Tsar.In a few counterattacks involving the Deutschland Army and the two Koningsberg Armies two Russian armies were brought back to 30 and 40 %.von Hindenburg is bringing reinforcements to build up a solid line of defense.

imag0598.jpg

German look-out units east of Warsaw, scouting the advance of the Russians.

The battle near Jutland is not going well.Admiral von Spee announced that the Russian fleet closed the entrance to the Baltic leaving the remaining German ships trapped in the between them and the Royal Navy. Also a French battleship was seen moving towards these positions.

The Russian have made sure the enemy was pushed back all the way to its front lines. In counter attacks the Russians managed to severly damage 1 Army group to STR 2.

On the West, the Germans pushed hard and managed to have 2 battalions surround France. In a swift counter attack one of them was destroyed although no Allied troops was able to move in the area.

fww2288.jpg

German pillbox knocked out of action

In the high seas the German Navy is virtually anihilated. While retreating 2 ships STR 8-9 where surprised by 2 russian cruisers. one was destroyed and the other reduced to 1 as it was surrounded by UK and French vessels, it has nowhere to go.

A fully refited German vessel is still in port at Brussels.

British tropps have landed deep into enemy territory, their mission... SABOTAGE or Take any available cities.

CP's Turn 13,

von Hindenburg:

It seems the enemy is relentless in his attacks. With great force has he come to threaten the Polish capital once again. But today there is the army of the Kaiser to fight him off!

The Russian army is running into strong defensive positions outside Warsaw. In the southern sector our Austro-Hungarian friends of the 2nd and Balkan army countered the attacking Russian 5th Army knocking it down to 40%.In the northern sector actions of the 2nd Warsaw and 2nd Koningsberg Army decimated an attacking Russian corps.

In the rear reinforcements are being brought to the lines.German High Command feels confident that the overall situation is in our favour now we are fighting closer to home. Our failed invasion was caused by supply limitations and unfavorable terrain. Now it is time for the Tsar to experience the same!

imag0258.jpg

German strongpoints along the frontline.

In the west a French corps was destroyed near the Swiss border.Again 'Die Grosse' played a major part in this operation. The crew is gaining experience and now was able to score two direct hits.German 3rd and 6th Army also joined the effort.

Near the channel coast the 5th Army heavily damaged a British corps.

In the rear units are being reinforced and brought into position.

imag0489.jpg

German infantry of the 3rd Army advancing over a hill.

German Navy command considers the battle of Jutland lost.It seems the Triple Dudes will now rule the seas of the western front. The fatherland is being prepared for possible invasions.

The waters belong to the Triple Entente! In a glorious and costly battle for both sides it has come to be that all that remains of the CP fleet is but one battleship who is docked in Belgium port.

After sinking the last ship at sea the Triple Entente fleet has gone off in patrol areas near enemy ports, ready to strike should it try to send more ships. A few ships have left for refiting.

On the eastern front the Russians have retreated closer to their cities after pushing back the enemy all the way to Warsaw.

Other cities are being heavily fortified and plans to make the invaders pay for their incursions in the motherland are underway.

image11.jpg

Russian Armies marching towards border cities

On the French battlefields the fighting keeps on being difficult, although there is a feeling of some ground being made with British reinforcements arriving from Manchester with some leadership.

Once again a Corps unit has landed behind enemy lines near Brussels. And even greater penetration in enemy territory has been succesffuly made. This time 2 Corps units are in German land, their mission, to cause havoc and if possible sabotage or take enemy cities while they make their way to French territory hoping to cut off the enemy.

11wb1o.jpg

Troops landing behind enemy lines.

The United States of America will most likely join the side of the Triple Entente, the governing party is having a successfull propaganda campaign on the American people, although not to the level they would hope. This will mean only a small military contigent will most likely be sent.

snpwwi4c.gif

US propaganda trying to get anything from its citizen, if not bodies, money will do.

Although one of their Generals has come up with a bold plan on how to use these troops and will lead them on this mission himself.

CP's turn 14,

Feldmarshall von Falkenhayn is proud to report that again the southern approaches to Paris are again in German hands. Now they must be held at all costs if the attack on the French capital has to have any succes.

Almost at nightfall the French Called Up Army defending the roads into to Paris was surprised by the elite 2nd Army. One attack was sufficient to wipe out the French defenders. The commanding officer of the 2nd Army reported afterwards that the French are throwing young boys into the slaughter. What chance would they have against heavily armed and experienced German veterans? Our soldiers showed great compasion by making them prisoner instead of shooting them. The American journalist in Berlin was notified of this and she immediately passed the word to Washington.

imag0082.jpg

The French must be completely desperate if they are sacrificing their little ones.Thank God for the deceny of the common German soldier!

Once the position was cleared of enemy troops 3rd Army moved in hereby attacking the French HQ.

Several units engaged the British invaders in the hinterland. These spoiling attacks are becoming quite bothersome.Sofar they have only been a nuissance.New units are being erected to keep it that way.

von Moltke :

We have to praise our English opponents. They prove they have courage by attacking us wherever they can.The French on the other hand are cowards of the most despicable sorts! They run every chance they get, when they attack they run straight into our field of fire out of pure stupidity and they let children do their dirty work.If it wasn't for the brave islanders France would have fallen long ago.

verdun.jpg

stupid French soldier...

On the eastern front the Russians have retreated.von Hindenburg decided not to pursue them, that would be disastrous. Now his troops are in full supply and digged in.Also near the Rumanian-Russian border troops are organizing their defences. The Tsar may not be underestimated.

imag0339.jpg

Austrian units gathering to hear an anouncement by their commander.

Much has been speculated about the US.British propaganda has been implying that the Americans are bound to enter the war to come to aid of the Triple Dudes. The Abwehr has sent agents to Washington to investigate this rumors.

Today they bring us the news that only 32% supports entry in the war.

Full Russian fortification is now complete, the Tsar is having more men trained for the military.

The German cruisers shore bombarding in the Black Sea are turning into a nuissance.

A very well trained German Army unit pushed through and now the CP have 50% of Paris surrounded. The British are not please at the French inefficiency at holding ground. Although the Army unit who has taken position was reduced to 40% capacity.

Boldly the Brits have once again landed troops near Brussels, this makes for 2 units behind enemy lines and now 2 units are even deeper within enemy territory, one managed to damage the Tank unit who had retreated from the French front, the unit is now down to 40% efficiency, our men took heavy casualties in the battle. The other battalion captured the German port near the Denmark border

Experienced British Army are now ready to engage the enemy and a British General is now in France leading his troops.

NOTE: Pics to come later, lack of time.

CP's Turn 15,

German High Command is becoming more and more concerned with the increasing British landings in te German hinterland. These incursions must be stopped as not to harm the campaign in the west.

Commander von Moltke frees up more forces to repell the stuborn invaders.

Near the Channel coast the German 5th Army and the 1st Cologne Army destroyed a British corps, hereby setting the example.

Conrad's armored forces openend the attack an an invading British corps near Essen.1st Army and the 1st Cologne Corps come to aid the Austrian commander and together they brought the islanders back to 10%.The British corps occupying the port of Kiel was attacked by the 1st Essen Corps and brought back to 50%.

More forces are being moved in to protect the German homeland and to eradicate all British elements trying to land.

imag1382.jpg

British cyclist scouts under attack near Essen.

Meanwhile on the French front von Falkenhayn keeps up the offensive.Attacks of the 2nd elite Army and the 6th Army heavily hit a French corps south of Paris.Casualties on French side are said to be 70%.4th Army attacked a British Army knocking it down to 30%.Other units were reinforced and moved into position to continue the offensive.

imag0595.jpg

French prisoners receiving their midday soup rations.US journalists are allowed into the prison camps.

In the east defences are being reinforced.German scouts saw some further retreats of Rusian units.

For the time being both sides are happy to leave eachother alone. But the Central Powers are suspicious and prepare in force.

CP's Turn 16,

von Falkenhayn :

No point in having new helmets if German sniperbullets always hit right between the eyes!

On the western front the Germans are mopping up the British invaders with great expertise.German High Command expressed it's content with the actions conducted to clear the hinterland.Several units were brought into action with great succes.

North of Essen the 1st Cologne Corps destroyed the first of British units. The british corps that had occupied the port of Kiel was engaged by a Austro-Hungarian corps and the 1st Essen Corps. Finally the new 1st Berlin Army under the personal leadership of the Kaiser himself swept in from the east and finnished the invaders.

BrittankWWI.jpg

Destroyed British armored unit at Kiel port.

On the French front the British again paid a heavy price for their incursions.Infuriated by the news of British misbehiavor in German villages, the German soldiers fought with a never before seen tenacity!Near the Swiss border the Egyptian Colonial Army was completely annihilated by actions of the 2nd and 6th Army with support of 'Die Grosse'.The 2nd Munich Corps was thereafter moved south to close the line and attack a French corps bringing it down to 70%.

North of Paris another British corps was destroyed by furious attacks of the 5th and 1st Cologne Army. The northern defences of the French capital now lie in ruin and no Allied units are left there. The Triple dudes will have to bring in green troops to protect this side of Paris.

Finally a British corps that landed on the Channel coast near Bruseels was surrounded and attacked by the 8th Army and the 2nd Koningsberg Army.

imag0539.jpg

British prisoners that survived relentless attacks the northern suburbs of Paris.

the Kaiser :

Germany today has showed the world that they still hold the greatest might in Europe.I'll not waste any words on the weakhearted French for today our most important enemy are the British. They cowardly invaded our fatherland, not daring to confront us directly, man to man.Today we showed them how we welcome island savages.Furthermore the enemy has yet to find the answer to our brilliant commander in the west FM von Falkenhayn. His rotation method has left the Triples baffled.Onward to victory!!

Russian leadership was not pleased at the deep retreat of its Armies, It ordered them to move forward to let the enemy know where are here and watching . And now the typical trench standoff begins in Russia.

imag1271.jpg

Czar Nicholas II giving orders to move his Army within enemy site

The UK High Command is not please at Russia for not going into battle, if Germany is too have the capabilities of using all its resources on one front, it will make the situation dire for the East.

UK troops that landed in enemy territory managed to keep enemy troops away from the front and send information of what they faced. This delay has provided the Brits with time to send in trained Army men to the front.

France once again was forced to send fresh troops called up from the streets to protect the north of Paris.

CP's Turn 17,

Now the hinterland is clear of British invading elements,German High Command can focus his energy on te western front near Paris.Pressure on the French Capital is increasing as more Triple units are destroyed.

Near the Channel coast a British Corps was defeated by the 8th and 1st Army.

More to the south, near the Swiss border yet another French corps was destroyed by actions of the 3rd and 6th Army with support of 'Die Grosse'.

Finally just north of Paris a newly arrived French corps was brought down to 30% by attacks of the 5th Army and 2nd Koningsberg Army.

01_WW1%20Plate_lge.jpg

A clear message!

On the Polish front the Russians are showing their ugly faces again.von Hindenburg positioned his troops to deal with a suspected attack to begin shortly.German High Command is confident that the armies of the Tsar will be held at bay while FM von Falkenhayn deals with the two Triples in the west.

Nicholas asked his men to move forward and face the enemy, which is what they have done in a very direct way, now both forces are side by side. One unit go carried away and fired accross the trench line. The commander of the unit was reprimanded for giving such orders. Later it was found out the scout with the orders had his bicycle chain break off so he got the message too late.

It is quite the stand off on the East.

The French are doing their best to hold firm, were it not for British Army units arriving steadily France would have surely fallen, the French are doing a poor job at defending their homeland.

Some German units were damage and will most likely move back and send it replenished troops.

By the grace of the all mighty our ships near Brussells survived the attack from the German Battleship and headed to port.

The UK is getting restless at the innaction of the US, diplomats assure the Prime Minister the political will is there, but support by the people is lukewarm.

CP's Turn 18,

GUNS ROAR AGAIN ON THE EASTERN FRONT !!

The armies of the Tsar placed their lines closer to the German defence positions.Luckily von Hindenburg was prepared for such a manoeuvre and acted quickly.Defence positions in Hungary and Romania were strenghtened and additional troops were allocated.

The Austro-Hungarian Army attacked a Russian army that ventured too close and together with the armored forces of Conrad the Tsar's men were destroyed.A bit more to the north the 2nd Warsaw Army and the Deutschland army conducted a limited attack on the Russian 13th Army bringing it back to 40%.

von Hindenburg :

Let the Tsar be warned that further offensive actions will not be looked kindly upon by the German forces in the east.Vengeance is on our side!

deiter.jpg

German front line troops in their trenches.

On the northern French front the main roads leading into Paris from the north were captured by our brave soldiers.Actions of the 5th Army and the 2nd Koningsberg Army destroyed a veteran French corps allowing the 8th and 1st Army to move in and seize the northern entrance to the French capital. In this action a newly arrived British army was reduced to 60%.

On the southern part of the front another French corps was killed.Coordinated attacks of the 3rd,2nd and 6th Army with support of 'Die Grosse' cold not be held by the French.

The Russians have decided it is time to taxe the CP resources to its limits, after the CP attacked come counter attacks were made and successfully managed to damage multiple enemy troops.

A tank unit was spotted for the 1st time on the Eastern front, the russians were briefed on these weapons by their Triple Entente allies and will swiftly deal with this clunk of metal.

More British army units have landed in France and 2 German units were heavily damaged, one was virtually wiped out.

The Triple Entente are now all under agreement that we must taxe the CP resources to its limit.

At last a breakthrough in the US where popular support has surpassed 50%, still of those that say they support the cause, they do not support full military involvment.
