Hawk

COCAT USER GROUP

Ladies and gentlemen of the board. Would you like to join the Cocat User Group?

"Huh?" I hear you ask. Well then, let me elaborate a bit...

Cocat is an acronym for Combat Mission Campaign Tool. It's a graphical tool (created in Visual Basic) originally developed for the CMMC, but in such a way that it will be easy to convert it to almost any WWII campaign currently covered by CM. The current version is 1.10 and is tailor maid for the CPX, a CMMC test-run.

Cocat allows you to create units that can be moved around on a map, draw movement arrows, place objectives and map labels, write unit orders and keep track of combat losses, supply etc. etc. To find out more about Cocat, please go to the Cocat Section at CMHQ (the 1.10 version is still hot from the press, so that page might not have been updatet yet). Please note that Cocat is currently only for PCs, but I'm hoping that there will be a Mac version out soon (Ariel has started looking into it).

Now, in order to develop Cocat further, I would like to set up a user group with people who can help me with ideas, testing, programming etc. If you think this sounds interesting, send an email to paaar@online.no, or use ICQ # 21751180 (ICQ is temporarily down because I'm upgrading it, but it'll be up soon).

Regards, Hawk (aka Pål Woje)
Ps. This thread was started with MadMatt's approval. ------------------ Our's is not to reason why, our's is but to do and die! Hamstersss
Anyone who hasn't seen this software is in for a treat. Keep up the good work Pal. (How do you get the 'o' on top of the 'a'?)
Guest Napoleon1944
Nice work. How and where do you get the maps? ------------------ The only enemy I fear is nature. -Napoleon
Hawk
Mensch: Yes, I know! Unfortunately, I don't have a Mac, so unless someone donates me one (and some software), I'm out cold. But as I said, Ariel Becerra is going to port it (he's away on holliday now, though). Another reason for starting a user group was that I hoped some Mac people would join so that Ariel could get some help (testing etc). Elijah: Thank you mate! I've found that the best way to keep small 'o' above the 'a' is to use Zap-a-Gap (superglue)! Seriously, if you press and hold down the ALT-key, then press 3 9 0 in sequence and release the ALT, you should get an 'å'. Of course, on my norwegian keybord there is a key for it! Napoleon: The map for Cocat 1.10 was made by Rene Lloyd, but any graphical file will do (as long as it isn't bigger than roughly 2000x3000 pixels).
