web site needs improvement

Recommended Posts

Combat Mission is smoking hot but the battlefront.com web site looks like it was slapped together. Decent functionality but the navigational layout, color selections, and image selections are very amatuerish. This is in stark contrast to the superior graphical aspects of CM.

I agree I think BTS "could sell more copies of their games if there website was set up a little better. You hardly can understand what the game is about from th efront page. If they listed all the improvements they have made to the game since its relase, more people would get very interested very fast. Every gamer has bought a "lemon" of a game before. And seeing what BTS has done to countinuely improve their prodeuct got me interested in getting CMBO.

It's not as if their web operation needs to be constantly updated so a bit of intensive work would suffice.

Obviously they could not use screenshots featuring mods, but the GI Combat site looks better for a game which I would be surprised is as good as CM.

Don't you worry, Dogface. I promise you that my knowledge of HTML/Java/JavaScript/Web infrastructure/etc far surpasses yours.

I did not use HTML because the user profile pages states the following:

Signature

Note: The Signature feature is currently enabled by this bulletin board's administrator. You may use UBB Code in this field, BUT NOT HTML. The UBB Code Image tag is not permitted, however.

If you have discovered that HTML actually DOES work here then, OK, that's great. If this IS true then BattleFront needs to update the profile instructions. I was only following the directions.

Well, even if dogface invented HTML and newjazz invented the internet, newjazz is still right. It wouldn't take a huge effort to make battlefront.com look a little more modern and appealing.

I just read newjazz's other post about how a website redesign is under way, so I deleted my erroneous sentence about how BTS wasn't interested in redesigning the site. Clearly they are interested in that. Which is a good thing.
