Francesco
Could someone answer this question? I think that it wasn't added because of the lak of space and/or foer its very low quantity, but It could be great to see a Panther capable of great night-combat. Guest KwazyDog
Its been a long while since I read about them Francesco, but I believe they were very rare and only introduced near the very end of the war. I think they were often used in conjunction with night vision equiped troops if I recall, with some success. Dan
Francesco
Yes, you're right, but I'm now asking myself how they did fight and what Allied were thinking about this (it wes the start line for modern night-fightings) - also seen in Berlin.... LimShady
If you get the chance, there is a section in Bryan Perrett's Iron Fist that deals with night-vision capable Panthers during the Ardennes Offensive. IIRC they were used against CCB 9th Armored (Task Force Harper?). LimShady
Juju
Neat pics of the Panther(IR)? Click this link: http://www.missing-lynx.com/gallery/german/mbpanth/mbpanth.htm for a little info on one of these tanks and some very nice model pics. Note the metal "skirt" on the deck, obviously attached to add some protection against small-arms for the 2 grenadiers (with (IR)MP44's) who protect the TC at night. ------------------ I prefer an enemy who's willing to die for his country. That way both him and me have the same aim in mind. [This message has been edited by Juju (edited 01-16-2001).]
