CATguy Posted March 8, 2001 Share Posted March 8, 2001 A weapon such as the browning 30cal would be what the "rifle" squad would work with as a tool. It would not necesarily be organic and as for historical TO&E's it was not that way for the US. The BAR served this purpose and quite well. Pak40 Posted March 8, 2001 Share Posted March 8, 2001 CatGuy, I think the .30 cals were organic to US paratroop squads (1 per squad). That's why CM models a paratroop platoon with 3 LMGs. I also remember reading something about the LMG in David Webster's "Parachute infantry". I'm not sure why the US paratroop squad is separated from the 3 man MG team and the German squads have their MG within the squad. Steve, Charles, Maddmatt, Kwazydog? anyone else know??
