Ok APC's what are the best types? I think that the 251/1 is one of the best German APC's. Why do the British have the M5 halftrak and the Americans don't? Are the British M5 and American M4 halftaks the same thing?

Seems like the M5 corresponded more to the M3, except for 6 cylinder International Harvestor engine, etc.

"Due to the non-standard nature, many of the M5 half-tracks were allocated to Lend-Lease stocks and most went to the British Army."

Hey Rob

I think US and UK Armies required slightly different things from their armoured carriers. That, and not all halftracks could be made by one company in the timeframe required, thus slight differences.

Most (if not all) US halftracks mounted the whopping great .50 cal MG, but the UK halftracks did not (even though they are modelled in CM, I think).

Squad sizes were also different between US and UK forces.

Have I covered everything? More importantly, have I got it right?

Steve
