Mini Campaigns

Recommended Posts

Just a question for those that have been around.

Which "Mini-Campaign" dp you feel to be the most "Challenging" out of

1. ANY PORT AFTER A STORM

2. NO REST FOR THE WEARY

3. AGAINST ALL ODDS

I've downloaded them all and will play them all but i don't get a lot of time to play CM. So if i can't get quantity i'll have to stick with Quality.

and suggestions?

Against all odds, without a doubt. The rpg style briefings are great. Hats off to the designers and the testers. The reinforcement timing was superb, complimenting the momentum of the battle perfectly.

I also liked the feeling of desperation I got when playing the scenarios. I wonder it even remotely compares to what the Germans must have felt when the war was winding down.

Any Port After a Storm and No Rest for the Weary are VERY good mini-campaigns. I liked them very much - the scenarios were all VERY good studies in infantry company command and the battles and terrain are all very well done.

Haven't tried Against All Oddsm yet. I'll go look for it now, methinks.

hey!

thank you Hal!

Only one designer and tester here :D

But there was no Axis campaign, so one has to do it... ;)

No need to thank me, Fred. I'm just giving credit where it is due.

I'm also a big fan of Patrick Ware's Mini-Campaigns. Any Port and No Rest are great, but felt more like infantry training excercises on a company level. Against All Odds was definitely more immersive.

I hope both you and Patrick keep up the great work and make more of these scenarios!

By the way, Fred, how many times did you have to test each scenario to get the timing of the reinforcements correct?

well, it differs from scenario to scenario; around 6-15 test runs each.

LOL, just tried it.

I couldn't select Netscape version using Netscape. :D

The seletion worked fine with explorer though,

so I used Explorer to enter Netscape area and

then copied the link to my main browser.

Downloading the campaigns...

Oops. Still didn't work. The download buttons in Netscape area didn't work in my Netscape.

Worked in Explorer. I now have the campaigns .

This will keep me occupied for a while... smile.gif
