jonp
All, I have read all the previous threads but was wondering if anyone has an answer for this. What is the difference? What are advantages vs disadvantages for each? Thx JonP
pathfinder1
biggest difference IMHO is that your troops can get tired fairly quickly if they are crawling, especially over fairly long distances. ------------------ this is pathfinder's evil twin [This message has been edited by pathfinder1 (edited 06-29-2000).]
Juardis
in my test of sound contacts (see my post on sneaking and talking), I set up a hot seat game and played both sides. Sneaking units are more apt to be killed when fired upon than crawling units. I don't think there is a difference with respect to being spotted. Just like in real life. ------------------ Jeff Abbott
ThomasZ
So is there a reason to ever sneak? I've always thought that in a buildding sneaking is worth while but unless you have cover near I"ve usually used crawl
Guest Michael emrys
Sneaking units are more aware of their environment than crawling units, and thus more likely to spot enemy units and fire on them. Michael
Buckeye
Crawling is also extremely slow. Sneak allows you to move with considerably more speed and better spotting (but also more chance of being detected). ------------------ "Don't lie to me, Gustav! You're a stinkin' Mac user!"
