Recommended Posts

OK, I'm just problably beign really weird here. but I just begun my PBEM experience adn I like it and would like to expand it some.

However, I would like to make a challenge with whoever answer's this little trivia question...

Where did the phrase " the whole nine yards " came from?

Ok, maybe this is not so hard but again, I'm just having a weird morning.

I don't know the first place it was used, and I'm not sure for which weapon, but I know it refers to the length of the ammunition belt used for a specific type of machine gun.

Yes, basically I know a little about everything but a lot about nothing. The worst kind eh??

I read that it came from fighter pilots in WW2. Not sure the plane model but the gun belts were 9 yrds. Emptying the belt , meant giving "them the whole 9 yrds".
