Colin
Hey well before I go to bed I'm just gonna post a ?. Is any one here playing CM on an iBook? I'm wondering what type of performance people get on those. It has a 4MB Rage Mobility chip right? Any body know how CM would run on that? I know that the 300mhz or 366mhz G3 that are available now are plenty fast to run CM in software mode and I'm just a curious little guy tonight. ------------------ Visit my webpage! http://cm4mac.tripod.com
Berlichtingen
We got a guy at work that plays on an iBook. It looks better than my G3 Powerbook (older generation)
Colin
Berli, Does he play it in software mode? I'm just really curious if the 4MB graphics controller is enough. I'd love to get a Powerbook G3 Pismo. Mmmmm.....8MB Rage 128 in a laptop... ------------------ Visit my webpage! http://cm4mac.tripod.com

John Kettler
quote:
Originally posted by Colin: Sounds good guys thanks!

Colin, from what I can tell, the iBook's at least as powerful as my first gen iMac, which is only a 233 MHz w/ 4 MBs of VRAM and 64 MBs of RAM. CM runs fine on my antiquated rig, so it shouldn't have any problems on an iBook (assuming it has enough RAM). Regards, John Kettler
Colin
New iBooks come standard with 64meg o'RAM now. ------------------ Visit my webpage! http://cm4mac.tripod.com
Berlichtingen
Hey Colin, The iBook only has 4MB of VRAM, but its a fairly good video card.
Colin
Ya I knew that Berli thats why I was wondering. I wasn't sure if 4MB was enough to run CM well. As soon as they put a DVD and 8MB VRAM into I'm buying it. I know they will. ------------------ Visit my webpage! http://cm4mac.tripod.com
