mensch Posted September 6, 2000 Share Posted September 6, 2000 right here it is I had a frustrating night yesterday and dicided to to a 600pt QB on a small map combined arms, modest hills, farmland, modest tree coverage, allies or jerry as attacker in a Probe or Assult mission as defender I lost everytime EVERYTIME, I'm thinking to myself I don't suck. (you be quiet germanboy) on the other hand as Attacker I won everytime. ok I lied one battle against the Amis (i was defending) I was soo wooped that I pressed the cease-fire button and luckly the americans did the same it was harry and we both had nothing much left. anyone out there got a win aginst that.. I mean that is your 600pts against 1200pts to 875pts or so.. damn I'll try it tonight if I can and see if I was just having a "poopy" day. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Briefly My Jackson and M8 howitzer fought a panther and a Marder, Jackson and Marder died and panther had a gun damage. After that, the M8 provided inf support and killed an AC. I had a platoon waiting the enemy in reverse slope defense. While the enemy was attackin, I rained 200 81mm mortar shots of at them. A zook killed a 75mm AC supporting the attack. Behind the first ambush waited another. A platoon supported by 2 MGs. To reach them, and the objective the enemy had to cross an opening. They couldn't. Before the battle ended, I ran a zook and the M8 to kill the helpless panther. Total 16 minutes before the AI surrendered. Attacker 125 casualties, 19 captured, 5 vehicles KO. 2 men OK Defender 55 casualties, 1 vehicle KO, 56 men OK. Score 86 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jarmo Posted September 9, 2000 Share Posted September 9, 2000 Just tried it the other way around. Me doing the assaulting. AI killed my M10 and two Shermans with two invulnerable Hetzers. Then killed my two ACs with one MG42, while I wasted my two .50's in a futile attempt to kill one heavy AC. My arty had no effect, hers killed my men like flies. After 20 minutes of butchering, a cease fire gave her a 90 point victory. ------------------ Now, would this brilliant plan involve us climbing out of our trenches and walking slowly towards the enemy sir? Mark IV Posted September 9, 2000 Share Posted September 9, 2000 Interesting little battle, but I won on the first try. How much edge are you giving the AI? QB, 600 points, farmland, modest trees & hills, defending against Allied Probe. My AT got off one shot and missed, bang, gone. I got 4 plain HTs and a mortar HT, plus a Hetzer, a platoon with a schreck, a roadblock and a wooden MG bunker. The crew from the mortar HT was the big surprise- 8 inf. casualties caused, 5 captured. I issued very few orders except to the Hetzer; the crew's participation was on their own and they were one badass little pistol team. IMO, this was exactly the kind of scenario where a crew could "legitimately" chip in, because it was Alamo time and they were in the thick of it. Two other crews got kills. Axis Tactical, without really trying. Hetzer was out of HE for the last 6-7 turns or so. Cool thing was, AI shifted the whole axis of attack when the first one didn't work out right away- a creditable effort. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
