franci Posted April 4, 2022 Share Posted April 4, 2022 Are FO vehicles like M1200 and equivalents worth it other than battle-taxi? They have fancy optics and/or systems that slightly reduce call-in times but I find life expectancy of vehicles in black sea environment way to short to be worth exposing, even more for a unit for which I want to have some good field of view. Each time I want to set up an observation post I find myself dismounting the FO/JTAC (or the COLT crew) and send them in a well hidden position where nobody will bother them. So what's the best way to employ them? I thought about doing somewhat like shoot-and-scoot missions (go to defilade position on already spotted target, call-in support, run) but then sending a dismounted FO would again be easier.
