Suicides-by-Steve
When installing, do you overwrite all files of the same version? Also, did anyone notice slowdown while utilizing these mods? I did (though only on the large maps), and I have a PIII 450MHz. ATI 128 Rage card... Kinda disappointing... ------------------ "Childhood's over the moment you know you're going to die." -The Crow
Michlos
You always overwrite the existing files when installing a new mod. I have not noticed any problems when installing the MDMP's. ------------------ < All gave some, some gave ALL> Owner of MiNa's CMBO Page http://www.combat-mission.com
Wayne
Yes, I noticed a slowdown on my 450MHz AMD when I used the new low res grass and the tree mods. I downloaded the mod without the grass and it improved the speed of my machine. It's annoying but I'll live with it until I get my 800MHz machine. ------------------ Blessed be the Lord my strength who teaches my hands to war and my fingers to fight. pathfinder
Steve.... it is probably the grass texture(s) that slowed your system down. Just replace with a lower res or orignial texture (off the cd). It worked for me (kept the orignial after using hi-res). Hope this helps. ------------------ unca pathy will show ya the path, if only he could find it himself!
Guest Madmatt
Yes, in MDMP-1 I believe the only textures that have shown to be a frame rate hindernace are the new Grass textures. Usually Hi-Res vehicles textures and the like don't cuase to big of a hit as there just aren't that many of them on the screen at one time. Compare that with the hundreds (perhaps thousands) of map tiles it you will see where the big vram killer is. I go into a little more detail about this very issue in my Madmatt Mod Guide available in the 3rd Party Mod section of CMHQ. Suicides-by-Steve
Does anybody know what the .bmf files are that I need to replace off hand? ------------------ "Childhood's over the moment you know you're going to die." -The Crow
Mr. Clark
All I can suggest is d/loading the velvet grass mod, and then looking in that zip for the filenames... then replacing those from your CD. (I assume your talking about the grass files)
