rocketman
Maybe this is common knowledge, but I have never noticed. If you have an on map mortar that a FO has called in a mission for and it is "preparing" - if you as much as target directly with that mortar (and cancel), the entire FO mission is scrubbed. Which is annoying. Some kind of warning message would be nice or unable to target directly for the mortar as long as it is for a arty mission.
mjkerner
Funny, I just noticed the same thing two days ago playing an opponent in a pbem game (CMBN v4). Something new, a bug, or has it always been that way?
rocketman
I know that I sometimes before has had arty missions "disappear", but always thought it was due to broken communications or either HQ or arty unit moving.
A Canadian Cat
It has always been that way. I guess it was not common knowledge. It is easy to tell once the fire mission starts because the green lines show up but during the prepare phase not so much.
rocketman
OK then, not a bug at least. But how about a red line to HQ/FO when in "preparation"? IMO it won't affect realism or gameplay, but rather speed up gameplay to cut out clicks/checks to make sure which mortar is about to be occupied or not. I know I should remember what missions I have called in, but in the heat of battle...
A Canadian Cat
Not a bad idea. Not sure how high it would make it on the priority list.
