Swant
I really like the new background noice, and I was wondering if it is somehow possible to use it in the other combat mission games? Edited June 9, 2016 by Swant
kohlenklau
Yes it is possible, just copy and paste it into the other games z folder.
Swant
Ok great! Now I just have to find it. Do you know were it might be located ?
kohlenklau
standby, I will take a look today to either give you the directions or get it to you by a link. But, meanwhile have you tried the new Waclaw universal sound mod? It is applicable to all games and is available as download from cmmods. I highly recommend it.
kohlenklau
use rezexplode to decompress this file in data: final blitzkrieg v100a.brz it becomes a big folder called this: final blitzkrieg v100a Then go to subfolder "sound" and then subfolder "background" and 5 wave files of 10-15MB in size. EDIT: Uh oh, I just read the patch changed one of those files so do the same procedure to the new brz you got with the patch and see if there is a wave file in there. kohlenklau
Did you ever give waclaw's sound mod a try?

I like JorgeMC:s sound mod just a litte bit more, but it is a close call
kohlenklau
I couldn't find Jorge's sound mod at CMMODS. Is it listed only under a certain CM family? If so, which one?
General Melchid
http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=2429& This is the BN & FI one , I assume it will work with FB but not tried myself.
kohlenklau
ok, thanks. AFAIK Jorge's sound mod seems to ONLY be weapons sounds so I just wanted to emphasize that Waclaw's is not only weapons sounds but voices and other sounds. General Melchid
On the issue of sound mods , I've ended up with a hybrid; I found some of waclaw's sounds caused me a static-glitch (smg sound) with my set up and I don't like background explosions or super loud main guns. That's the beauty of mods , you can mix and match to find the right set.

How do you mix sound mods, extract with rezexplode and using the wave files? What if I want to use waclaw's HQS2.5.brz and just change one or two gunsounds for example?
General Melchid
Yes you have to unpack the brz and cherry-pick the files you want. It's not too bad; once you unpack the files are all in separate folders for different sound-types so its fairly easy to locate gun sound or voices etc.
